We Started With a Simple Question

Why do so many businesses struggle with SEO analytics when the data is right there? Back in 2019, we realized most people weren't lacking information — they were drowning in it without knowing what actually mattered.

Teaching since 2019

From Frustration to Education

MentraLog came from real experience, not theory. We'd spent years helping Australian businesses make sense of their analytics, and the same problems kept showing up. People would collect mountains of data but couldn't connect it to actual business decisions.

So we started teaching small workshops in Cairns. Nothing fancy — just practical sessions showing people how to look at their numbers differently. The response surprised us. Turns out, plenty of folks wanted to understand this stuff properly, not just get another certification to hang on the wall.

We're not trying to make you an analytics expert overnight. That's not realistic, and honestly, it's not what most businesses need anyway.

How We Actually Teach This

We've learned what works through trial and error. These three things have become the foundation of everything we do.

1

Real Data, Real Problems

No made-up case studies. We work with actual scenarios from Australian businesses. You'll see messy data, unclear patterns, and the kind of questions that don't have obvious answers — because that's what you'll face in real life.

2

Context Over Formulas

Analytics tools change every year. The thinking behind them doesn't. We focus on helping you understand why certain metrics matter for your specific situation, not memorizing what buttons to click.

3

Flexible Learning Pace

Some people pick this up quickly. Others need more time with the concepts. Our programs starting in late 2025 are structured so you can move at a speed that makes sense for you, not some arbitrary schedule.

The People Behind the Programs

We keep our team small on purpose. Everyone who teaches at MentraLog has spent years working directly with SEO analytics — not just studying it, but using it to solve actual business problems. You won't get junior instructors reading from slides here.

Declan Forsyth

Lead Instructor

Declan started doing SEO for Queensland tourism businesses back in 2014. He got into teaching because he was tired of seeing people waste money on consultants who couldn't explain their own recommendations. His sessions focus on translating technical metrics into language that makes sense for business owners.

Analytics Program Director

Sorcha comes from a background in data analysis for retail chains. She joined us in 2021 after realizing most SEO training skipped the crucial step of connecting analytics to business outcomes. She designs our curriculum and makes sure we're teaching skills that actually transfer to workplace situations.

Our Next Program Starts September 2025

We're taking enrollments for our intensive analytics course beginning in September. It runs for three months with both online sessions and optional in-person workshops in Cairns. Class size is limited because we've found smaller groups work better for this type of learning.
